35 Mescals in Cuautla was composed  in 1998 for the Groningen Guitar Duo and recorded on their CD Body of your Dreams, Basta 30-919-22, containing the guitar duos by JacobTV. The music is based on a poem by  Malcolm Lowry.  Mescal is a strong Mexican liquor, and 35 mescals are enough to knock out a heavy drinker. For Lowry however, drinking large quantities of mescal was a daily routine. 35 Mescals in Cuautla is an attempt to write music as hallucinating as mescal. Score & parts are unpublished.
